Tasting Notes
Our 2021 Portrait Pinot Noir boasts vibrant aromas of cherry, raspberries, and allspice. A judicious application of oak barrel cellaring resulted in a balance between fruit expression and secondary vanilla / spice notes. It finishes balanced, rounded, and assertive.
Winemaker Notes
Our 2021 Portrait Pinot Noir grapes were grown on a vineyard in the middle of the famed Naramata Bench. This property showed the best potential among several source vineyards as harvest became imminent for our Portrait Pinot Noir. This exemplary crop was fermented in small batches, temperature-controlled and was given extra attentive cap management. This allowed our Portrait Pinot Noir to be subtly steered in varied directions, aiding in the development of complexities in this wine. Once fermented and pressed the wine rested in French oak barrels for 16 months; 57% new oak and was then blended and bottled.
Food Pairing Notes
Roast lamb encrusted with a mustard rosemary crumb, serve with salmon ceviche, or simply enjoy with family and a festive turkey.
